Delt's Story

Delta Tau Delta :

Delta Tau Delta (ΔΤΔ) was founded in 1858 at Bethany College (in what is now West Virginia), grounded in the conviction that integrity is essential. Its founding principles—Truth, Courage, Faith, and Power—have served as a steadfast guide for countless members. Since its inception, the fraternity has grown to over 200 campuses, with approximately 125 active chapters and colonies and more than 7,000 undergraduate members. Over the course of 150+ years, more than 150,000 men have joined the Delt brotherhood.

Sam Houston Delt's :

At Sam Houston State University (SHSU) in Huntsville, Texas, the Epsilon Zeta Chapter was officially chartered on January 9, 1960, making it the first men’s fraternity on campus. Since then, the chapter has upheld the national fraternity’s ideals, embedding them deeply in its campus presence and local traditions, from brothers’ development and campus engagement to community service and philanthropy.

Organization Purpose :

Delta Tau Delta’s mission, “Committed to Lives of Excellence,” serves as a guiding beacon for every member. Grounded in the four core principles—Truth, Courage, Faith, and Power—the fraternity cultivates honest relationships, leadership in adversity, trust in decisions, and inner strength toward a shared vision. These foundational ideals are reinforced by five supporting values: Integrity is Essential, Accountability is Fundamental, Lifelong Learning and Growth are Vital, Strengthening Community is Essential, and Brotherhood Sustains Us. Through this value framework, Delt men are encouraged to live purposefully—honoring themselves, the fraternity, and their communities at a standard of excellence in all aspects of life.
